After nearly a year of planning, organizing, researching, and ordering various components for all of my equipment I am happy to say that I have completed construction of my private glass blowing studio, and everything is fully operational. I'm currently making efforts to open it as a glass school. As 2 of the 3 fundamental pieces of equipment use electricity, my goal is to install solar panels by the end of the year. I also plan to install a heat recuperating burner system on my gloryhole. Both of these efforts will minimize the environmental impact of the shop and ensure that the exhaust emissions will be as low as possible.

Izak, great seeing the shop pictures. The equipment looks very nicely done!! I had actually thought about you recently and wondered what you had done with your glass shop dreams

Let me know if I can clear anything up, I haven't updated the blog in some time, but I do know a lot more about glass in Tuscany... Just ask.

Hi there- I was wondering if you're in Italy now and if you happen to give workshops in your studio. My family and I will be near Barbarino this week and I want to surprise my husband for his birthday with a glass-blowing workshop. He's always been interested and would spark some much needed inspiration for him. If you aren't in town or don't offer workshops, is there anyplace in the area you could recommend?
