Last winter I went to Florence to speak to the superintendent of the Polo Museale Fiorentino, Cristina Acidini, who is also the leading scholar on Medici glass. We spoke of the possibility of doing glassblowing demonstrations in the Boboli Gardens as well as the state of the glass industry in Tuscany. She made it possible for me to visit the library located inside the Uffizzi museum, and insisted that I must study this book called Mediceische Glaskunst written by a German named Detlef Heikamp. Unfortunately I do not understand German, however the photos spoke for themselves, and it is absolutely the most concise book I have found on Medici glass.
Please enjoy the photos of the photos in the book, as well as the photos I took at the science museum in Florence where they display Medici glass artifacts.

Do you know the name of the "science museum"? Do they have a web site? I am an American glass artist with a strong interest in glass history.
